The pictoresque town and harbour on the south-east part of the island, at the end of BaaA!Äanska draga. It is exposed to both jugo and bura (from the Senj Channel). Beside working in wineyards and vegetable gardens, the people work in tourism and fishing. BaaAka has about 2 kilometers long gravel beach and that is one of the most famous swimming beaches.
In the parish church of St. Trinity, with three naves, from 1722, there are paintings "The Last Supper" by Jacopo Palma jr., "The Madonna With Saints" by M. Marziale and "The Coronation of st. Mary" by F. JurrÄiiÄ from 1724.
A kilometer from BaaAka, in Jurandvor, there is the early Romanesque Benedictine church of St.Lucija, built around 1000. The famous BaaA!Äanska plooÄa, one of the oldest Croatian linguistic and law monuments, with the text in the Glagolitic script, carved in a rock tablet.
